French Holidays 2008

Legal Holidays in France for 2008 Calendar Year

By Kelby Carr, About.com

Here is a list of the French legal holidays for 2008. Be sure to check on specific dates for future years. While some holidays are always the same day (such as New Year’s, obviously), others (like Easter) change every year.

In 2008, the holidays in France also feature a double holiday with Labor Day and Ascension Day both on May 1. It can be important for travelers to know the French holidays, in part because many places will be closed and also because often there are festivals and events.
